Wastewater Analysis Lab
North Water District Laboratory Services (NWDLS) is a Houston, TX based lab specializing in testing and analysis of wastewater and biosolids to meet NPDES requirements. Forty years ago, NWDLS was a pioneer in the wastewater analysis industry and we are proud to continue to set the standard for analysis and testing of wastewater. Today, we provide monthly wastewater treatment analyses for over 400 municipal utility districts, cities, and private industries in Southeast Texas. These include agricultural operations, petroleum refineries and chemical plants as well as municipal treatment plants.
The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) requires permits for all facilities that discharge pollutants into waters within the United States. Compliance includes meeting requirements for industrial pretreatment, compliance monitoring, and proper disposal of biosolids.
Wastewater Sampling Services
Wastewater is considered to be any liquid waste discharged by industry, agricultural operations, commercial properties and residences. As such, it can contain a wide range of potential contaminants in varying concentrations. Wastewater treatment plants are designed to collect the wastewater and treating the water to remove contaminants before releasing the water or, for some industrial and agricultural applications, reusing the water. The plants are responsible for analyzing the treated wastewater to ensure that the contaminants have been removed and disposing of the sludge, or biosolids, removed from the water safely.
